The observatory provides sample Device Files for each receiver. The user must use a sample file and do not modify Receiver(Rx) and SB(Sideband). In other words, the user should modify only Tracking Frequency, IF, the value of Attenuator, Center Frequency and Frequency Resolution. In this page, you can find the list of sample files of Device Tables with the screenshot of each sample file.

FOREST

FOREST equips two Upper Side Bands (USB1 and USB2). One covers from 4 GHz to 8 GHz and the other has a range of 7 GHz to 11 GHz. These two are automatically selected by the center of IF you defined. The center of IF can be derived by the following formulae.

(Center of Intermediate Frequency[for USB]) = (Center Frequency) - (Tracking Frequency) + (Intermediate Frequency)

If the center of IF is higher than 7.5 GHz, the user should use a sample file using USB2, otherwise use USB1. An easier way in choosing a sample file you should use is to calculate the difference between frequency of your target lines.

19 GHz > (Frequency difference) > 15 GHz : FOhvul2.device (USB2 and LSB)
15 GHz > (Frequency difference) > 8 GHz : FOhvul.device (USB1 and LSB)
8 GHz > (Frequency difference) > 7 GHz : can not be observed simultaneously
7 GHz > (Frequency difference) > 4 GHz : FOhvu2.device (USB2 and USB1)
4 GHz > (Frequency difference) > 0 GHz : FOhvu.device (USB1) or FOhvl.device (LSB) depending on LO frequency.
