Improvements and Developments of Software
2008 Winter
- 2SB Receiver Support
- The programs of merge process, obstable, etc. are
revised for the new 2SB receiver (T100).
Note that reduced data may have the appearance of "zero" values at the edge
due to the shift of frequency.
- Adoption of Geodetic Reference System 1980 (GRS80)
- The earth ellipsoidal, Geodetic Reference System 1980 (GRS80), is adopted
in COSMOS3.
- Improvements of COSMOS3 for a next generation spectrometer SAM45
- Improvements of intensity calibration of AC45
2007 Winter
- Revision of intensity calibration for the digital autocorrelation spectrometers (MAC)
- Variation of the total-power between the ON and OFF positions is taken into consideration.
Accurate intensity is now obtained for, e.g., quite intense emission lines, or
absorption lines against bright continuum emission.
- Frequency-switching OTF observations
- New "Sp FITS" task of NewStar
- More "general" format (the binary table extension, instead of the random group) is adopted.
Now under testing in NRO.
- Export (Linux) version of the OTF reduction software
2006 Winter
- The quick look system (QLOOK)
- Display of rms (root-mean-square) of noise is added.
It is used for weight of integration (1/rms2).
In addition this rms is used for automatic stop of the
observations when the noise level reached the threshould rms
level set in the scan table in Obstable.
- A function of binning is added.
- Automatic log
- A function to send a log by e-mail is added. In addition
the first system temperature (Tsys) of each observation is
automatically recorded in the log.
- Insertion of a load (LD1) at the elevation above 82 deg
- To avoid radio emission from radar satellites, a load (LD1)
is automatically inserted, when the elevation becomes more than
82 degrees. Since the elevation limit for observations is
80 degrees, this action is not carried out at elevations for
astronomical observations.
- Note that the load (LD1) is not automatically
stored, when the elevation becomes below 82 degrees.
If the load is still inserted, it is necessary to store manually
(please ask the assistant).
- Non-siderial tracking for comets and asteroids
- A function of non-siderial tracking is added. Observers need
to prepare a file containing coodinates of objects.
