How to use obstable

Before observations with the 45m telescope, you must prepare Observe Table which consists of three subtables (Source Table, Scan Table, and Device Table) and send it to the workstation which controls the 45m telescope system. You can make these subtables and send Observe Table to the workstation by using a software obstable. This manual explain how to use obstable and about the parameters which you have to enter.

dfEffective 2008/2009 observing season, obstable is only available on obstable1.nro.nao.ac.jp (or ut11u.nro.nao.ac.jp). This machine is accessible only through the internal NRO network (issue "ssh -X ut11u.nro.nao.ac.jp". If the "-X" doesn't work, then try "-Y" instead). Users are responsible of remaking and resending all of the tables using this new version of obstable. Tables generated using the old version of obstable will most likely not work.

dfA new "Postscript" button replaces the old "Print" button. This button outputs a screen dump to a file called "obstable.ps". Users who wish a hardcopy of this file should issue "lp -d PRINTER_NAME obstable.ps" where PRINTER_NAME takes one of the arguments found here. If no PRINTER_NAME is given, the hardcopy is sent to the default printer located at the SE room on the first floor of the main building.
