A Guide for Submission by E-Mail

- We only accept PDF files via e-mail
for proposal submission. Submission by regular/express mail or FAX is NOT acceptable.
- We accept color figures/pictures in the scientific justification of proposals.
- From this observing period, all proposals should be written in English. (Japanese users can append Japanese version. But it must be faithful translation.)
Instructions for Submitting Proposals
To submit proposals by E-mail
Preparation for your proposal
- Cover-Sheets
- Scientific Justification
- Prepare a file of the scientific aims, plan of observations, estimates of observing time
(within 2 pages(**) (General Program) / 1 page (Short Program), including figures and tables).
Create a single PDF file (Paper Size of A4, 21cm x 29.8cm) incorporating your scientific justification and any figures.
Color figures can be included.
Please note that submitting more than 2 pages (General) /1 page (Short) may cause rejection of your proposal. Character size of larger than 10 point is highly recommended.
(**)For a multi-year project whose observing time exceeds 200 hours in total, one optional page can be added to describe the result of the previous season.

Note for Mail_Subject name and File name
In order to ease the identification of the proposal files,
we would appreciate if the mail_subject name were clearly labelled and named by first author.
- Subject: Name_(year+category)_# of your proposals.
- File name: Nama_#of your proposals_Cover.pdf, Name_#of your proposals_SciJust.pdf
- Category List:
- A-- First period of the General Program
- B-- Second period of the General Program
- S-- Short Program
- E-- Education Program for Graduate Students (Domestic User Only)

- # of your proposals:
- Additional applications by the same PI for the same semester should be then numbered 02, 03 etc.

After Submission
