(READ THIS FIRST!) Notes for the 2011-2012 season

V2011.11.01
- This is a shared risk release -- you should double check your observational details when the observation is executed
- H20, H40 and T100 can be connected to SAM45
- "On-On" scanning mode is not yet available

SAM45 status (March 19, 2012)

The arrays colored with red are currently not available. Green indicates available arrays.

If your switchbox setup in the Device Tab uses any of the unavailable arrays, do not enter the center frequency (leave it blank) for that particular array. (Additional note for A6): do not use LO2 Freq = 10.2509 - 10.3625 GHz as we are having trouble locking the synthesizer to this frequency range. You can check your "LO2 Freq" in the Summary Tab.

Introduction

The "Obstable Z" is a Java program that allows the observer to create observing scripts for the 45m observations. This program is designed for 45m observations using the SAM45 spectrometer in conjunction with any of the receivers equipped by the 45m telescope. Those who are using the AC45 or AOS spectrometers should consult the old Obstable manual (http://www.nro.nao.ac.jp/~nro45mrt/obs/obstable/index.html ).

Preliminaries

Creating Tables

  1. File Tab
  2. Source Tab
  3. Scan Tab
  4. Device Tab
  5. Summary Tab

Finalizing your script

The "Generate and Send" button generates the final obstable and sends the relevant tables to the machines at the 45m. Make sure you see the "Obstable Generated." and "Obstable Sent." messages in the message box. If you don't see these messages, then it is likely that something is wrong!!! Your configuration files remain at your local working area on ut11u.
