    (Short Version) Ken Tatematsu graduated from Kyoto University, and obtained MSc from Kyoto University and PhD from Nagoya University. Then, he was Postdoctoral Fellow at three institutions including University of Texas at Austin. He was appointed Associate Professor and then Full Professor at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. He was ALMA Japan Project Director, and is currently Director of the Nobeyama Radio Observatory. His major research fields include millimeter and submillimeter astronomy, star formation, and the interstellar medium.
    (Long Version) Ken Tatematsu graduated from Kyoto University in 1983. He was awarded an MSc from Kyoto University and a PhD from Nagoya University. Then, he was Postdoctoral Fellow at JSPS, at Nobeyama Radio Observatory, and at University of Texas. He was appointed Research Associate at Ibaraki University, and Associate Professor at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ). Since 2007, he has been Full Professor at NAOJ. He was Japanese Project Director for ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, international radio telescope project) from 2008 to 2012, and is currently Director of the Nobeyama Radio Observatory. His major research fields include millimeter and submillimeter astronomy, and observational studies of star formation and the interstellar medium.
