Let's manage your files
[Service: FILE SERVICE]



This TASK is to rename, delete and backup files.
When you load the files backed up using this TASK, please use FROM CMT on Button Panel.

* USAGE:
1. Starting FILE SERVICE
Click [FILE SERVICE] on Button Panel. The following FILE SERVICE window appears.

2. How to see FILE SERVICE window
top part (message window)
It shows various messages.
middle part
The category of files and sorting options are selected at this part.
Page:
Click 'RAW2', 'SP' or 'MAP'. The files of each category are shown in the bottom window.
Sort:
Click 'Name' or 'Class'. Files are sorted by file name or extension.
bottom part (information window)
It shows "File name", "Class", "Size", etc.

3. How to use
1. mark
  1. In the information window, click files that you want to operate.

  2. After marking, the menu bar changes.

2. rename
  1. Double click the file you want to rename. The following rename_popup appears.

  2. Specify a new file name (if necessary, also specify class and sequence number by connecting with "." [period]).
    You can not change sequence numbers of all files (except for image files) and observational dates ("Class" of raw data files). For details, see also the reference manual.
  3. Click [OK]. The file name changes.

3. back up to tape (Tape device is unavailable)
  1. Mark the file(s) that you want to back up.
  2. Click [BackUp] in the menu bar, and select [to tape] from the pull-down menu. The following backup_popup appears.
          

  3. Specify the device name. For example, type "mt21u:/dev/rmt/0n" when you use the DAT drive in 2F computer room ("mt21u" is the name of the workstation, and "/dev/rmt/0n" the name of the DAT drive).
  4. The box of "Print <BACK UP LIST>" is checked (default), and a list of backed up files is printed out. You will need sequence numbers of the files in the list, when you load the files using FROM CMT.
  5. Click [OK].

4. delete
  1. Mark the file(s) that you want to delete.
  2. Click [Delete] in the menu bar, and select [Delete]. The following delete_popup appears.
          

  3. After confirming, Click [OK]. The files are deleted.
