New 4-beam receiver FOREST

FOREST (FOur beam REceiver System on 45m-Telescope) is a 100GHz-band, 4-beam, dual-polarization (2-pol.), sideband-separating (2SB) SIS (Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor) heterodyne receiver being developed for the Nobeyama 45-m Telescope. This receiver will be the most powerful tool at 100GHz-band by adding new capabilities to the NRO 45-m Telescope: (1) large-area mapping at high angular resolution and (2) simultaneous multi-line (mapping) observation. Other capabilities that other 100GHz-band receivers possess (e.g., deep pointing observation, spectral line survey) will also be covered by FOREST.
